The Nets, after trading D’Angelo Russell and Timofey Mozgov in last year’s trade deadline deal with the Lakers, could use some more firepower. However, it will be hard work considering how much talent they have on their roster already.

Kyrie Irving was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in one of those deals. This would undoubtedly be a transaction that would change the league’s landscape.

Eric Bledsoe and Luke Kennard are two experienced players that can help a successful squad. While the bulk of the draft compensation paid would be second-round selections, they would gain a young talent in Keon Johnson. Coming into the 2021 NBA draft, Johnson was regarded as a capable defender with exceptional quickness.
The Nets now have a starting-caliber point guard in Bledsoe, and Kennard is the ideal sharpshooter to fill in for starter Joe Harris in the second unit. By adding Johnson to fellow rookies Cam Thomas and Day’Ron Sharpe, the Nets have a solid collection of youthful talent, plus they’ve picked up five draft selections in the process.
It will be practically hard to gain comparable value for a superstar like Irving, but Bledsoe, Kennard, Johnson, and selections make the Nets substantially stronger and more versatile going ahead than the Irving-less version we witnessed on opening night.
It remains to be seen if the Brooklyn Nets will trade Kyrie Irving. However, Adrian Wojnarowski earlier revealed that the Brooklyn Nets had received calls about Kyrie Irving from other clubs, implying that there is undoubtedly interest from other teams in the dynamic point guard. The Brooklyn Nets, on the other hand, haven’t aggressively attempted to move Irving.
Any team featuring James Harden and Kevin Durant is certain to be a contender, but Kyrie Irving is the missing element that elevates them to the next level. The ideal scenario for the Brooklyn Nets is for Kyrie Irving to be able to return and play, but that does not seem to be the case anytime soon. Even if the package isn’t quite “equal value” for a player of Irving’s caliber, it could be ideal to receive some contributors in exchange.
