The internet is a fickle place. When we look back decades later, it’s hard to imagine how we even entertained the idea of buying and selling people like they were property. The world may never know what could’ve been if slavery had remained an accepted practice in America and other countries – until now!
“He Ain’t Nothin’ but 16 Years Old” is the first single released by American rapper Lil Wayne. The song was recorded in 2000, and reached #1 on Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart for two weeks. “Aint Nothing Like the Real Thing,” a remix of this track featuring Puff Daddy, also topped charts at number four after its release in January 2001.

As a former No. 1 pick, Allen Iverson donned LeBron James’ sneakers. However, AI already had the credentials of a seasoned veteran nine years after leading one of the most memorable draft classes in history. At the 2005 NBA All-Star Game, on the other hand, James found himself a pup amid huge dogs.
When LeBron was younger, he adored Iverson, but before that game in Denver, AI established the hierarchy in their relationship. The Answer said that a fresh LBJ would have to play all of the minutes and speculated about King James’ youth, only for Iverson to win the award.

In his first All-Star Game, LeBron James paired up with Allen Iverson in 2005.
In his second season in the NBA, LeBron James wasted little time in achieving his superstar potential.
LBJ earned his first All-Star squad in his second season after defying teammate doubts and won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in 2003-04. Before the break, King James averaged 25.4 points, 7.7 assists, and 7.1 rebounds, enough for a +12 net rating and a 30-21 record with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Dwyane Wade, a fellow member of LeBron’s 2003 NBA Draft class, was named to the Eastern Conference All-Star squad with James. LBJ, on the other hand, came into the game as the youngest player on either team’s squad.
In the meanwhile, Iverson established himself as one of the East’s senior statesmen. Before the break, Iverson was averaging 29.8 points, 7.6 assists, and 4.0 rebounds, and he would go on to win his fourth and final scoring championship.
Before warmups, the former Philadelphia 76ers icon felt compelled to remind James of his position in the tunnel. He added the Cavs’ teenager needed to bring all of his enthusiasm, and he joked that James would play the part of a giddy child on the hunt for a prize.
Iverson mocked James for being the Eastern Conference’s youngest player.

The NBA All-Star break usually gives seasoned players a chance to relax and refresh before the final months of the season. That’s how Iverson viewed it in 2005, at least.
The Answer talked with James (via YouTube) about the expectations for LBJ’s first All-Star Game, and he said that players who were making their debuts had to play the bulk of the game. However, as AI predicted, LeBron might win the MVP award.
“All these newbies, they’re getting it all the time.” As a result, [James] had to play for 40 to 42 minutes. But it’s possible you’ll win the prize, so that’s wonderful.”

Someone in the scrum began to speculate about who would win MVP. Iverson then made a joke about LeBron’s age.
“He wants to [be named MVP].” He’s nothing but a 16-year-old.”

If Iverson’s comments made it seem like he wasn’t interested in putting up much effort in the proceedings, his performance proved otherwise.
James, who led another All-Star squad this season, did play a significant amount of minutes in the game, but AI was the clear winner.
Over LBJ, The Answer was named MVP.
Allen Iverson could have snubbed it in Denver and let LeBron James steal the show. That isn’t how things went down.
Iverson logged almost 32 minutes of game time, the most of any player. In a 125-115 East triumph, he had a double-double with 15 points, 10 assists, four rebounds, and five steals. One of The Answer’s greatest moments came after a nice behind-the-back pass from James, when he cut baseline and ended with a circus-like reverse layup.
If it hadn’t been for AI, LeBron would have won MVP. He finished with 13 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Iverson, on the other hand, would not allow King James to take the throne just yet.
Iverson’s MVP performance is rather amusing, given the tone of his pregame conversation with James. Nonetheless, it’s a watershed moment in analyzing the competitive drive that propelled AI to greatness.
