Chelsea won the English Premier League after a remarkable comeback from Leicester City. The Foxes started out 4-1 up at half time, but losing to Chelsea in the second half led them to being relegated for just one season before returning again as champions the following year.
Chelsea extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to six points with a 3-0 victory against Leicester on Saturday.
Thomas Tuchel’s side increased their lead over Manchester City this weekend, while Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester suffered their sixth loss of the season. On 14 minutes, Antonio Rudiger scored the game’s first goal, before N’Golo Kante added a second and Christian Pulisic scored his own goal in the second half.
“We played a terrific away game, wonderful outcome, a nice blend,” Tuchel told BT Sport. We generated a lot of half-chances, and although we were a little unfortunate with offsides, I’m satisfied if we create. We had to be strong from the start to the finish; it was a well-deserved victory.
“We battled with judgment and accuracy in the latter third of the game and might have produced more opportunities. Anything can happen when you’re down two goals, and the stadium might wake up, but we didn’t let them into the game and finished them off.”
Hosts Daniel Amartey and Marc Albrighton were brought in to replace Youri Tielemans and Ricardo Pereira, who were injured in the 1-1 draw against Leeds before the international break. Meanwhile, Chelsea welcomed back Mason Mount after dental surgery, with Trevoh Chalobah filling in for Andreas Christensen. Following his comeback from injury, Pulisic was well enough to sit on the bench, and he scored his first goal after coming in in the second half.

On four minutes, Ben Chilwell, who was booed on his return to the King Power, could have opened the scoring against his previous club but blasted his effort from inside the area against the bar, much to the delight of the home supporters. Chilwell, on the other hand, was beaming seconds later as his right-wing corner ball found Rudiger, who rose highest to tip a header past Kasper Schmeichel for his second goal of the season.

Chelsea’s second goal came just before the half-hour mark, and it was scored by another former Leicester player. Kante, who won the Premier League with Leicester in 2016, rushed through midfield unimpeded and past Schmeichel with a left-footed shot to extend his team’s advantage.
Rodgers struck a furious figure in the first half, with Ademola Lookman’s strike disallowed for offside, the home side’s only meaningful danger on the Chelsea goal.
Early in the second half, Chilwell forced a fantastic save from Schmeichel as Chelsea sought a third goal, before Tuchel introduced Pulisic, who had not played since November 6. With 20 minutes remaining, the United States international lost no time in getting involved, slotting past Schmeichel for Chelsea’s third goal. The goal concluded a successful week for the 23-year-old, who scored in the USMNT’s 2-0 victory over Mexico on Saturday and then played in the midweek draw with Jamaica. With 10 minutes to go, Pulisic believed he had scored his second and Chelsea’s fourth goal, but he was just offside.
Jorginho went out with what seemed to be a hamstring injury late in the game, so it wasn’t all smiles for the leaders. Many of the home fans had had enough and made their way to the exits at that moment.
If Manchester City beats Everton on Sunday, they may cut Chelsea’s lead to three points once again, while Liverpool can momentarily leapfrog Chelsea ahead of their home match against Arsenal on Saturday evening.
