According to Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Paul Pogba will be out until at least beyond Christmas with a thigh injury he sustained while on international duty with France, and may be out for up to three months.

After picking up the issue during a shooting session during the international break, Pogba has flown to Dubai to begin his recuperation.

He will miss United’s match against Watford on Saturday, and Solskjaer has said that he may be out for up to 12 weeks.

“It was a bad injury for Paul, and it came at a disappointing moment for him,” Solskjaer said during a press conference on Friday.

“With muscle injuries like these, you sometimes hope for six or seven weeks and the worst case scenario is 10, 11, 12 weeks.”

“One thing I’m certain of is that Paul is determined to return and give his all when he does, and he’s already begun his recuperation with his own enormous attitude to return stronger, since Paul has always had that nature. We should be able to visit him shortly after Christmas.”

During the break, England’s defender Harry Maguire had a great run, scoring twice in games against Albania and San Marino.

He’s received a lot of flak for his performances for United this season, but Solskjaer insists he’ll maintain the captain’s armband and believes the 28-year-old can “prove his detractors wrong.”

Former United player Roy Keane called Maguire “embarrassing” for cupping his ears in celebration after his goal against Albania.

“I haven’t thought about removing the captain’s armband from him,” Solskjaer stated. “Since he came in, he’s been an absolute rock for us on and off the field.”

“His family, his club, we’re all extremely thrilled with him, and we all support him, and he’s such a great professional, and he’ll prove the detractors wrong.”

“The so-called experts have their views, and it is their duty to express them. This is not anything we should be concerned about. Harry is a real Man United player who is always there for his teammates and nation.”

United go to Watford on Saturday after a dreadful run in which they have lost six of their past twelve games.

Solskjaer’s club has only kept two clean sheets this season, and the Norwegian said that he has been concentrating on improving his defense over the international break.

“We’ve had games where we’ve given up simple opportunities; we can’t give up easy chances against any team,” he said.

“We’re playing against a well-organized Watford team that is very good at counter-attacking and set plays, and focusing on this game, you’ve got to make sure your defending is right, and then that’s probably the dark side of the football that you know you have to work on, and we have put a lot of things right.”

The “manchester united transfer” is Man United’s new manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirming that midfielder Ander Herrera will miss the Christmas schedule.
